Does Crux have access to my stored documents and messages?
No. Your data is encrypted, and only you and your assigned nominees can access it at the designated time. In fact, no one else — including Crux — can view your information.

How does Crux ensure that my nominee receives my information safely?
Nominees must complete a verification process before accessing assigned files. We confirm your passing through official records before releasing any data.

How do I add or change a nominee?
You can add or update nominees anytime in your Crux dashboard. Changes take effect immediately.
Can I assign different nominees for different documents or messages?
Yes. You can assign specific files or messages to different nominees based on their relationship to you.
How does Crux verify that I have passed away before granting access to my nominees?
We use government death registries and nominee-submitted documentation to verify your passing before releasing any stored data.
What if my nominee’s contact details change or they are no longer available?
You can update nominee details at any time. If a nominee is unavailable, backup nominees can be assigned.
Can I leave a message or video for my loved ones to be delivered in the future?
Yes! Crux allows you to schedule messages, videos, and letters to be sent to your loved ones on special dates or after your passing.

What are the different Crux subscription plans?
Crux offers three plans:
- Start (Free for life) – Basic storage & nominee selection.
- Life (£9.99/month) – Extra storage, multiple nominees, enhanced security.
- Life+ (£14.99/month) – 100 GB storage, unlimited nominees
What happens if I don’t renew my subscription? Will my data be deleted?
Your data remains stored for a grace period of 30 days. You can either renew or download your files before deletion.
Can I upgrade or downgrade my plan at any time?
Yes, you can switch between plans at any time without losing your stored data.

Is Crux legally recognized for estate planning?
Crux helps you create and securely store your legal estate planning documents, such as wills. However, it does not replace professional legal advice. For complex estates, we recommend consulting a solicitor.
Can I store my will or legal documents on Crux?
Yes. Crux allows secure storage of wills, legal documents, and other estate planning materials.
Does Crux replace the need for a lawyer when making a will?
No, Crux is a complementary tool for legacy planning but does not replace legally binding wills.
Can Crux be used internationally, or does it only work in the UK?
Crux is available for the UK residents only however nominees could be based anywhere in the world.

Who can make an online will using Crux?
Anyone over 18 and of sound mind can create a will through Crux. Whether you have a few assets or many, Crux makes it simple and secure to ensure your wishes are clearly documented. Please note that at the moment, will creation is valid only for England and Wales.
Is my will legally valid if I make it online?
What happens after I complete my will?
Once your will is complete, it will be reviewed by one of our panel solicitors for legal accuracy and compliance. You can then securely store it in your Crux vault.
Can I update my will later?
Absolutely. Life changes and so can your will. With Crux, you can edit or update your will anytime, ensuring it always reflects your current wishes without any extra costs.
Is my data safe with Crux?
Yes. Crux uses bank-grade AES-256 encryption and zero-knowledge architecture, meaning only you and your chosen nominees can access your data, not even our team.
